Sunda Kelapa – the old port at the mouth of the Ciliwung river in Jakarta

Wooden boats still load freight to bring to the archipelago nation. The swept prows and broad beams of a century and a half ago toil on into this one, diesel has replaced sail but I saw no navigational systems on the boat I was allowed to board – just a cb radio and a cell phone with gps. A Pakistani businessman inquired where I was from and what brought me down to the harbour. I told him the boats.
